The impact of surgical therapies for inflammatory bowel disease on female fertility.

CONCLUSIONS: The effect of surgical therapy for IBD on female infertility is uncertain. It is also uncertain if there are any differences in infertility among those undergoing open versus laparoscopic procedures. Previous surgery was associated with higher risk of miscarriage, use of ART, Caesarean section delivery, and giving birth to a low birth weight infant, but was not associated with risk of stillbirth, preterm delivery, or delivery of a small for gestational age infant. These findings are based on very low-quality evidence. As a result, definitive conclusions cannot be made, and future well-designed studies are needed to fully understand the impact of surgery on infertility and pregnancy outcomes. Methylglyoxal (MGO), a highly reactive metabolite of hyperglycemia, serves as a major precursor of advanced glycation end products that play key roles in diabetic complications. Ginsenoside Rb1 (abbreviated as Rb1) has received extensive attention due to its potential therapeuti...

We report the results from a study evaluating a commercially available artificial pelleted diet for bass and live feed (fathead minnows). Following a six-month diet-acclimation period, age-0 smallmouth bass were assessed using morphometric measures, histologic and immune-function end points using conventional methods, miniaturized cell isolation and assay methods as well as imaging flow cytometry. Fish on the two diets did not significantly differ in length, weight, or condition factor, indicating that growth was similar in the two groups. Histologic examination revealed relatively higher levels of macrophage aggregates an...

Both drugs are widely prescribed for treatment of bipolar depression. The proposed TLC-densitometric method was based on separation of the studied components and the internal standard (vincamine (VINC)) ...

However, there is no symmetric study reported on association between B[a]P exposure during the early development and hippocampal dendritic architecture causing behavioral changes like learning and memory deficit of adult rats. We investigated a fourteen day consecutive B[a]P administration, intrap...

CONCLUSION: Patients' qualitative feedback highlighted the potential feasibility and adaptability of the program for this population. The results of this preliminary study show promising avenues for research in the field of cancer patients' adaptive coping enhancement as well as reduce anxiety and depression symptoms. This type of workshop can be considered as complementary to individual psychotherapies as they may tap into different mechanisms that help foster psychological flexibility as the group format enhances decentering processes. Further research avenues are proposed in order to assess the efficacy of such interven...

In this study, we aimed to explore the efficacy and safety profile of apatinib monotherapy, or combined with chemotherapy or endothelial growth factor receptor (EGFR)-TKI in heavily pretreated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastases. We performed a retrospective analysis for relapsed NSCLC patients with brain metastases from our institute, whom received apatinib (250mg or 500mg p.o. qd) monotherapy, or combination with EGFR-TKI or chemotherapy as second- or more line systemic therapy until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurred. The objective response rate (ORR), disease control rat...
