Roundup isn ’t Bayer’s only potential billion-dollar headache

Bayer has another big-ticket legal liability besides Roundup: polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, which Monsanto made from 1935 until 1977. American states and cities have filed lawsuits to recover the costs of cleaning up toxic PCBs, which were widely used in industrial products and chemicals and banned in the U.S. in 1979. “This could easily become another major litigation problem for Bayer,” Jean Eggen, who teaches environment al law at Widener University in Wilmington, Delaware, told Bloomberg.…
