[Myocardial infarction in young patient: Epidemiological specificities and risk factors]. Presse Med. 2019 Jul 18;: Authors: Tea V, Danchin N, Puymirat E Abstract There is no precise definition of premature coronary artery disease, which is reported most often before the age of 40-50 years. The majority of these patients have at least one of the following three risk factors : male sex, active smoking, and/or premature coronary artery disease. In 2/3 cases, young patients have a ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Cases of coronary dissection are also reported (especially in women in 40aine). There is no specific management. The long-term prognosis is most often pejorative because of a progressive atheroma. PMID: 31327544 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
