Looking forward through the past and changing me to we in the evolution of team-based vascular care

Being president of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) is the highlight of my career, not only professionally but personally for me, for my family, and for my partners in Albany. I would like to thank Michel Makaroun for his wonderful introduction, although most of it may not be true. I attended my first SVS meeting when I was 6  years old with my parents, and at that point, it was mostly a scientific spectacle; but for my father, the SVS meeting was much more important than being president of the United States.
