First prospective feasibility study of Carbon-Ion radiotherapy using compact superconducting rotating gantry.

CONCLUSION: C-ion RT using compact rotating gantry and 3-dimentional active scanning is a safe and feasible treatment for relatively less mobile tumours.
ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: This study will be the first step to establish the use of superconducting rotating gantry in carbon ion radiotherapy in clinical setting paving the way for treating large number of patients and make it a standard of practice in the future.
