Reply to: Atomic bomb and CRISPR gene editing technology

We thank Tez et  al for their interest and commentary on our recent article entitled “CRISPR-mediated gene editing for the surgeon scientist.”1,2 The authors draw interesting parallels between past rapid advances in nuclear technology and the catastrophic effects on humanity with its unethical use and weaponiz ation.
