HHS Awards $20 Million to 27 Organizations to Increase the Rural Workforce Through the Creation of New Rural Residency Programs

Today, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded $20 million in grants to develop new rural residency programs as part of the Rural Residency Planning and Development Program (RRPD). The grant recipients span 21 states and will develop rural residency programs for family medicine, internal medicine, and psychiatry to help improve the number of healthcare providers serving rural communities.
