Bariatric Surgery is safe and effective in Medicare patients regardless of age: An analysis of primary Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy outcomes

On August 30, 2017, The Medicare Evidence Development and Coverage Advisory Committee (MEDCAC) convened a public hearing to review the available evidence for the “Health Outcomes After Bariatric Surgical Therapies in the Medicare Population”. The purpose of this hearing was to obtain public comment on the findings of an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Technology Assessment Program study of evidence for “Short- and Long-Term Outcomes a fter Bariatric Surgery in the Medicare Population”.
