Patterson-inspired health center opens with aim to reshape rural care

A $40 million health center will begin accepting patients July 22 in Harper County, Kan. – birthplace of late Cerner Corp. CEO and co-founder Neal Patterson – with the goal of changing the landscape for rural health care in south-central Kansas. The 62,400-square-foot Patterson Health Center was funded largely by a $35 million donation from The Patterson Family Foundation in 2017. Patterson died in July 2017.
