ConclusionsThe limited longevity of bioprosthetic valves poses significant concerns about the cumulative lifetime risk of reinterventions. Prospective studies are required to determine if interventions such as treatment of atrial fibrillation and postoperative anticoagulation will delay the occurrence of PVD.
