Common conditions associated with mandibular canal widening: A literature review.

Conclusion: When clinicians encounter a lesion associated with mandibular canal widening, they should immediately consider these entities in the differential diagnosis. Doing so will help dentists make more accurate diagnoses and develop better treatment plans based on patients' radiographs. PMID: 31281785 [PubMed]

ConclusionsEvaluation of 193 bone tumours of the scapula revealed a high incidence of malignancy in this series, while increased patient age was identified as a potential risk factor for the development of a malignant lesion of the scapula. These findings highlight the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of suspicious lesions of the scapula to improve patient outcome.

Publication date: 15 December 2019Source: Journal of Molecular Structure, Volume 1198Author(s): Lei Wang, Gui-Bin XueAbstractSolvothermal reactions of 1, 3, 5-tris (4-carboxyphenyl)-benzene (H3BTB) with Gd(NO3)·6H2O gave rise to a new highly porous coordination polymer {[Gd(BTB)(H2O)](DMF)(H2O)}n (1) having three dimensional structure. In light of its highly rigid framework as well as the large one-dimensional triangular channel configuration that has abundant open metal sites, we can utilize the resulting activated 1a as effective Lewis catalysts for the acetaldehyde's cyanosilylation at room temperature. The compa...

IAPs are proteins with antiapoptotic abilities, and their functions are different from the Bcl-2 (B-cell lymphoma-2) family proteins. However, the precise role of Livin in colon cancer progression remains unclear. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of overexpression Livin in colon cancer cells and to examine its molecular mechanism. We demonstrated that Livin induced a colon cancer phen...

Authors: Qu M, Zhu S, Hu Z, Li Y, Abotaleb B, Bi R, Jiang N Abstract BACKGROUND: Surgical guiding templates provided a reliable way to transfer the simulation to the actual operation. However, there was no template designed for anterior segmental osteotomy so far. The study aimed to introduce and evaluate a set of 3D rapid prototyping surgical templates used in anterior segmental osteotomy. MATERIAL AND METHODS: From August 2015 to August 2017, 17 patients with bimaxillary protrusions were recruited and occlusal-based multi-sectional templates were applied in the surgeries. The cephalometric analysis and 3D sup...

SpiglandAbstractIngestion of neodymium magnets carries risks of dangerous intestinal complications including necrosis of the intestinal wall, bowel perforation, enteroenteric fistulae, and even death. Prompt endoscopic or surgical removal can prevent these complications. Here we report a case of unwitnessed ingestion of 19 neodymium magnets that went unrecognized for two weeks before presenting with small bowel obstruction due to a phytob...

Abstract Ameloblastoma in the tibia is rare. Limb reconstruction after tumor resection is challenging in terms of selection of the operative method. Here, we report a case of radical resection of an ameloblastoma in the mid-distal tibia combined with limb salvage using a three-dimensional (3D)-printed prosthesis replacement, with 1-year follow-up results. After receiving local institutional review board approval, a titanium alloy prosthesis was designed using a computer and manufactured with 3D-printing technology. During the operation, the stem of the prosthesis was inserted closely into the proximal tibial medul...
