Abstract PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the reporting habits of clinicians who have been exposed to disruptive behaviour in the operating room (OR) and assess their satisfaction with management's responses to this issue. METHODS: Ethics committee approval was obtained. This was a pre-specified sub-study of a larger survey examining disruptive behaviour, which was distributed to OR clinicians in seven countries. Using Likert-style questions, this study ascertained the proportion of disruptive intraoperative behaviour that clinicians reported to management, as well as their degree of sati...

CONCLUSIONS: Age and female gender are associated with lower CFR, and age with worse CFC in an angiographically non-obstructed coronary artery. CFC seems to be less sensitive to variations in clinical and hemodynamic parameters than CFR, and therefore is a promising tool in contemporary clinical decision making in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. This study sought to derive and validate a systematic method enabling AVC quantification using computed tomography angiography (CTA) in patients with AS.Methods134 consecutive patients with AS who underwent both NCCT and CTA were included in the study and sub-divided into derivation (n=71) and validation cohorts (n=63). On NCCT, AVC was quantified using Agatston method utilizing the software developed for semi-automatic assessment of coronary calcium. On CTA, mean contrast attenuation of aorta (AortaHU) and standard deviation (SD) was measured in the region-of-interest at level of sinotubular junction.ResultsUsing an adjus...

Abstract Wheat flour has recently been recognised as an exposure vehicle for the foodborne pathogen Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC). Wheat flour milled on two sequential production days in October 2016, and implicated in a Canada wide outbreak of STEC O121:H19, was analysed for the presence of STEC in November 2018. Stored in sealed containers at ambient temperature, the water activity of individual flour samples was below 0.5 at 6 months post-milling and remained static or decreased slightly in individual samples during 18 months of additional storage. STEC O121 was isolated, with the same geno...
