Bladder leiomyomas.

CONCLUSIONS: Imaging studies guide to diagnosis. Transurethral resection is recommended in lesions smaller than 3 cm. and enucleation or partial cystectomy in larger lesions. Prognosis is good. PMID: 31274128 [PubMed - in process]

This study investigating a multiphenotypic approach, based on the comparative study of a wild type strain of P. aeruginosa, its isogenic OprF mutant. Both P. aeruginosa PAO1 and OprF mutant strains were grown in same condition and cultures were subjected to further analysis by SDS PAGE, pyocyanin production and biofilm formation that was analyse using scanning electron microscopy. Based on biofilm formation essay and pyocyanin production, the study showed that OprF plays a dynamic role in P. aeruginosa virulence. The absence of OprF results in slow growth rate corresponded to elongated lag phase and reduced biofilm product...

ShehataAbstractAdministration of almotriptan as an oral therapy is largely limited because of poor aqueous solubility and rather low bioavailability. The aim of present investigation was to formulate oral mucoadhesive film of almotriptan to improve the drug delivery and desired therapeutic effects. Placebo films (F1-F8) were prepared by varying the concentrations of Proloc 15 (7.5% w/v-...

Conclusions 18F-FDG PET/CT is useful for diagnosing nonsuspected metastasis before neoadjuvancy in potentially operable AEG. The ΛSUV correlates with pathologic response and is a long-term independent prognostic factor of survival.

Primary leiomyosarcoma of the bronchus is an extremely rare malignant neoplasm. A 29-year-old man presented with persisting cough and sputum over 1 month. Unenhanced and contrast-enhanced chest CT showed a nodular lesion in the main bronchus of the left lower lobe and multiple enlarged lymph nodes in the mediastinum. Preoperative staging 18F-FDG PET/CT scan displayed a hypermetabolic lesion of the known nodule and mild FDG uptake of mediastinal lymph nodes. The histological examination confirmed bronchial leiomyosarcoma and reactive hyperplasia in lymph nodes.

We present 4 cases of pathology-confirmed BIA-ALCL to illustrate varying presentations and imaging features of this disease process. Breast implant–associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma presents most commonly approximately 10 years after implantation of textured silicone or saline breast implants. Patients may present with breast enlargement, peri-implant effusion, a palpable breast or axillary mass, lymphadenopathy, breast skin erythema, or pain. Diagnosis of BIA-ALCL may be confirmed by sampling of peri-implant fluid or biopsy of peri-implant masses or regional lymph nodes.

A 57-year-old man, on octreotide treatment for metastatic neuroendocrine tumor pancreas, was referred for whole-body 68Ga-DOTANOC PET/CT scan to evaluate treatment response. PET/CT scan revealed DOTANOC-avid lesion in the head of the pancreas with multiple tracer-avid soft tissue lesions in the liver, bilateral adrenal glands, and periportal lymph nodes. In addition, diffuse intense DOTANOC-avid mural thickening with intraluminal polypoidal mass formation was noted within the stomach causing significant luminal compromise, histopathological examination of which turned out be hypertrophic hypersecretory gastropathy. This ca...

Multimodality imaging was performed on a 53-year-old woman who was suspected with malignant bone tumor in her left femoral midshaft on radiograph. An MRI demonstrated the lesion showed hypointensity on T1-weighted and high intensity on T2-weighted fat-saturated images. It was more extensive on MRI than that on radiograph, especially in bone marrow and parosteal soft tissue. The lesion accumulated radiotracer on bone scan and 18F-FDG PET/CT. Finally, a Langerhans cell histiocytosis was confirmed after surgery. The case cautions us Langerhans cell histiocytosis should be in the differential diagnosis spectrum in an adult wit...

A 6-year-old girl with high-risk neuroblastoma underwent a 123I-MIBG scan to monitor the disease status. In addition to the known lesion in the right retroperitoneal region, there were additional foci of increased activity in the right upper quadrate of the abdomen, which were not typical bowel activity. SPECT/CT images located the activity in the cortex of the lower pole of the right kidney, which was partially calcified. Subsequent biopsy confirmed neuroblastoma metastasis to the right kidney, which is extremely rare.
