Structural analysis of the mitral valve in rheumatic and degenerative mitral valve diseases: implications for annuloplasty selection.

CONCLUSIONS: Annular unsaddling was significantly more prevalent in the degenerative MV disease group. The mitral annulus of patients with RVD tended to be round and stiff.
