Wistar Institute finds its first Casper Wistar Fellow in Canada

The Wistar Institute has appointed its first Caspar Wistar Fellow. The honor went to Rahul Shinde, whose research is focused on the role specialized cells known as macrophages play as a front-line defense system for the body's immune system. Wistar established the Caspar Wistar Fellows Program to fast-track the most promising, early-career scientists and enable them to pursue "creative, out-of-the box biomedical research for the benefit of humanity."
