Conclusion: There is a wide heterogeneity of postoperative cerebral hemodynamic findings among TBI patients who underwent DC, including hemodynamic heterogeneity between their cerebral hemispheres. DC was proved to be effective for the treatment of cerebral oligoemia. We describe a 55-year-old male patient with a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) as a result of left middle cerebral artery (MCA) aneurysm rupture, who underwent continuous electroencephalogram (EEG) and somatosensory evoked potential (cEEG-SEP) monitoring that showed an unusual SEP trend pattern. ConclusionsWhile the occurrence of AE during IHT is a known risk factor for ABI patients, our results demonstrate that IHTs do not alter the brain tissue chemistry in a significant manner. This fact may help assess the risk for routine IHT more accurately.

Conclusion: We rely more and more on our technical tools in medicine. However, clinical examination is and will stay the the first sign indicating cerebral pathologies and should remain the first priority to have an awake patient who can be examined routinely. In addition, we emphasize on the need of seeing the patient and not only the images. More than anything else, the patient is the first who shows signs of pathology and not the instruments (CT, TCD, etc.).
