UPMC reports a dozen cases of MRSA at Children's Hospital
Six patients and six staff members at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh have tested positive for MRSA, UPMC said Monday.
The cases were confirmed at UPMC Children's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The hospital said all patients in the NICU were tested, with six testing positive. One of those six was potentially symptomatic with MRSA, also known as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
