Deprescribing in Nursing Homes
I read with interest the recent article by Kua et al regarding deprescribing for nursing home residents.1 The authors reported a significant reduction in mortality associated with deprescribing (odds ratio [OR] 0.90, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.82-0.99). In addition, they suggest that medication review–directed deprescribing interventions sp ecifically could reduce the risk of death by 26% (OR 0.74, 95% CI 0.65-0.84).
