Endoscopic Ultrasound

An endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a specialized procedure using endoscopy and ultrasound to view your upper or lower gastrointestinal system. EUS is performed by a gastroenterologist with advanced training. Endoscopy is when a scope (a thin, flexible tube with a camera and a light on the end) is used to look at the gastrointestinal tract, and ultrasound is the use of high-frequency sound waves to see detailed images of the bowel wall and nearby organs or structures.
