Trends in status of hypertension in rural northeast China: results from two representative cross-sectional surveys, 2013–2018

Conclusion: Despite the high prevalence of hypertension during the past 5 years, blood pressure levels increased significantly, especially the DBP level. Awareness, treatment, and control of hypertension remained unacceptably low. Therefore, strategies targeting the management of hypertension should be emphasized in rural northeast China.
