The incidence and survival of melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer in patients with vitiligo: a nationwide population-based matched cohort study in Korea.
CONCLUSIONS: Unlike in Caucasians, the risk of skin cancer was increased in the Korean vitiligo population. Nonetheless, it is noteworthy that the skin cancer incidence in Korean vitiligo patients was lower than that of their Caucasian counterparts. Due to possible ethnic differences in the susceptibility to skin cancer, skin cancer surveillance in the vitiligo population may be adjusted to race. This article is protected by copyright.
