The Effects of Hypothermic Circulatory Arrest on Hemostatic System in Pig Model

Backgroud: Aortic arch surgery is frequently associated with excessive postoperative bleeding and transfusion of allogeneic blood products. However, the physiopathology of hypothermia induced coagulopathy has never been systematically studied. The aim of the present study is to investigate the impact of the degree of hypothermic circulatory arrest on the changes of the perioperative hemostatic system in pig cardiopulmonary bypass model.
