A 4-year retrospective cohort study was conducted to determine the incidence and risk factors for such surgical site infections. Of the 2439 patients included in the study, 84 of them (3.4%) developed infections. Postoperative bleeding, Ahlbäck's disease, obesity, smoking, and male gender were independent risk factors that should be considered when caring for those patients.
