CONCLUSION: This study confirmed published results that labour progresses more slowly as maternal BMI increases. The study was performed in a centre with a specialized BMI pregnancy clinic; thus weight gain adherence, awareness of labour differences, and patient counselling may have contributed to low Caesarean section rates. Obstetric care providers should consider differences in maternal BMI in labour progression before undertaking a potentially premature Caesarean birth, especially in primiparas. When IVF patients get pregnant, they know how important measuring their blood  HCG level is, to monitor the health of their pregnancy. However , they aren't sure how to interpret these levels. The reason it can be hard to make sense of them is because the normal range varies vary so widely; and because they rise so quickly as the pregnancy grows.Remember that HCG levels are very dependent on the gestational age of the pregnancy. Also, tracking HCG levels over time gives us far more valuable information as compared to just a single level !Read more at www.drmalpani.com/knowledge-center/articles/hcgYou can register at www....

ConclusionsThe GBS detection rate of the vagino-perineal swab was lower compared to the reference standard. However, agreement between the two screening methods was high and there were no cases of GBS neonatal sepsis in the recruited population, supporting this less invasive screening strategy. In contrast, the vaginal-perineal swab was inferior to the rectal swab for detecting ESBL-E, indicating that this less invasive method for detecting antibiotic resistant bacteria that may be potentially transferred to the neonate during labor and delivery would be inappropriate for ESBL-E screening in pregnant women. The low ESBL-E ...
