Creutzfeldt –Jakob disease‐like diffusion‐weighted imaging hyperintensity paralleled with neuropsychiatric symptoms in a patient with limbic encephalitis associated with anti‐voltage‐gated potassium channel complex antibodies
In this report, we describe a case of a 58 ‐year‐old man with limbic encephalitis associated with anti‐voltage‐gated potassium channel complex antibodies (anti‐VGKCC‐ab). He exhibited clinical and diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI) findings suspicious for Creutzfeldt‐Jakob disease (CJD). Unlike similar reported cases, DWI findi ngs paralleled with neuropsychiatric clinical symptoms. Our case emphasizes the importance of anti‐VGKCC‐ab‐associated encephalitis as a differential diagnosis of CJD.
