New Retroperitoneal Transvaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery Approach to Sentinel Node for Endometrial Cancer: A Demonstration Video

ConclusionIt has been previously shown that vNOTES hysterectomy offers patient benefits over total laparoscopic hysterectomy [3]. The retroperitoneal vNOTES approach now also offers good transvaginal access to the entire retroperitoneal space for sentinel node resection. This is a new approach that requires further validation before vNOTES hysterectomy with retroperitoneal sentinel node resection can be used outside study settings for the treatment of endometrial cancer.

ConclusionWe introduced a novel classification system for ovarian metastases originating from colorectal cancer, which may be beneficial for assessing ovarian metastases from colorectal cancer and avoiding unnecessary surgery due to misdiagnosis of primary ovarian tumors.

CONCLUSIONS: EBRT followed by intracavitary brachytherapy seems to be an effective option for IEC. The implementation of 3D concepts at time of brachytherapy may contribute to high local control probability and low toxicity profile. Large scale retrospective or prospective data are needed to confirm these early data. PMID: 32475773 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Abstract In 2013, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Research Network found four novel prognostic subgroups of endometrial carcinoma: POLE/ultramutated (POLE), microsatellite-instable/hypermutated (MSI), copy-number-low/TP53-wild-type (CNL), and copy-number-highTP53-mutant (CNH). However, poor is known regarding uncommon histotypes of endometrial cancer. We aimed to assess the genetic profile of uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS) on the light of these findings. A systematic review and meta-analysis was performed through electronic databases searching (up to July 2019). All studies assessing UCS series for the TCGA classific...
