Conclusions: The present study revealed that MwoA patients show a significantly reduced use of the "turning to religion" approach, an emotion-focused coping strategy. Although migraine patients appeared to be less oriented to transcendent (that means a reduced utilization of an adaptive coping strategy), they did not perceive daily living as more stressful than HCs. Finally, the reduced utilization of the "turning to religion" coping strategy is associated with a great impact of migraine on ability to function on the job or at school, at home, and in social situations in migraine patients. Abstract Background: Chronic migraine with medication overuse headache (CM-MOH) is the most common type of chronic migraine, and it increases risk of stroke and white matter lesions. These pathologic changes could induce cognitive decline. However, the alteration of cognitive function in CM-MOH patients is not established. Therefore, we took this study to reveal the cognitive performances in CM-MOH. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between December 2015 and January 2017. Patients were divided into CM-MOH, CMwoMOH (chronic migraine without medication overuse), and MO (migraine without aura) gr...

Authors: Tian L Abstract The exact mechanism of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is unknown. It needs to be treated because of severe headache and impaired vision. For medically refractory patients, cerebrospinal fluid diversion, optic nerve sheath fenestration and dural venous sinus stenting is applied to relieve the symptoms. ConclusionsNeurological complications such as meningitis due to varicella zoster virus reactivation are uncommon, especially in an immunocompetent child; no specific immune deficiency was identified in our patient. We conclude that, although rare, varicella zoster virus should be recognized as a potential cause of viral meningitis in immunocompetent children.

Authors: Byrnes DM, Vargas F, Dermarkarian C, Kahn R, Kwon D, Hurley J, Schatz JH Abstract Acute lymphoblastic leukemia and other aggressive lymphoid malignancies like Burkitt leukemia/lymphoma have high incidence of central nervous system (CNS) involvement. Various solid tumors, most notably breast cancer, can also metastasize into the CNS as a late stage complication causing devastating effects. Intrathecal (IT) chemotherapy consisting of methotrexate, cytarabine, or the two in combination is frequently used for the prophylaxis and treatment of CNS metastasis. Because of the high toxicity of these chemotherapeuti...
