Tu1968 SEVOFLURANE INFLUENCES ESOPHAGOGASTRIC JUNCTION DISTENSIBILITY IN THE ABSENCE OF ESOPHAGEAL INFLAMMATION

The functional luminal imaging probe (FLIP) is a novel method to assess morphology and functional properties of the esophagus in patients with a wide array of esophageal pathologies. The assessment of esophageal body and esophagogastric junction (EGJ) distensibility index (DI) has particularly been promising for achalasia, eosinophilic esophagitis, and esophageal stricture. FLIP measurements are typically taken when the patient is sedated. However, sedation protocols differ between pediatric and adult populations and between institutions.
