Su1193 UTILITY OF ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASOUND-GUIDED FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION IN THE EVALUATION OF PERIPORTAL LYMPHADENOPATHY IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC LIVER DISEASE
Enlarged periportal nodes can be found in patients with chronic liver disease due to underlying inflammatory disorders and/or infectious etiologies. Enlarged periportal nodes are also encountered in patients with chronic liver disease suffering from hepatobiliary malignancies, including hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma and/or lymphomas. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) poses minimal risk to the patients and is an accurate diagnostic procedure for identifying lesions adjacent to the gastrointestinal tract.
