Conclusions: Medium-energy collimator imaging is essential for SPECT imaging in sentinel node lymphoscintigraphy. The septal penetration artifacts seen with low energy collimation can result in non-visualization of the sentinel node and a high rate of false negative studies. Reference: 1.
