FDG-PET/CT as a complementary diagnostic tool and echocardiography pitfalls in infectious endocarditis.

Conclusions: FDG-PET/CT is a useful diagnostic tool in the algorithm of suspected ICED infections. Performing ultrasound studies at the earliest timepoint and presence of thrombus are the main causes of false results in echocardiography.
