Preliminary Study on the Diagnostic Value of 11C-PIB PET/MR in cardiac amyloidosis
Conclusions: 11C-PIB PET/MR may be valuable in the noninvasive diagnosis of CA. Further study with a larger cohort of patients would be needed to confirm it.

CONCLUSIONS: Further studies are required in order to establish the complicated association between SARS-CoV-2 infection and its effects on the cardiovascular system. Our knowledge regarding diagnostic approaches, therapeutic management and preventive measures is constantly enriched throughout an abundance of ongoing research in the respective fields. Authors: Rong LQ, Neuburger PJ, Kim J, Devereux RB Abstract Global longitudinal strain (GLS) has emerged as a valuable diagnostic and prognostic tool for evaluating left ventricular (LV) function. GLS has been shown to be a more sensitive marker of LV dysfunction than LV ejection fraction alone and have prognostic impact in non-surgical cardiac populations. GLS, is validated, reproducible, and easily obtained from 2-dimensional speckle- tracking echocardiography. While there is strong evidence for using GLS in clinical decision- making in non-surgical populations, there is less summarized evidence on using GLS in t...

Authors: Heppt MV, Steeb T, Szeimies RM, Berking C Abstract Actinic keratoses (AK) are common precancerous cutaneous lesions in fair-skinned individuals as a result of cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Due to their high prevalence, AK account for a large disease burden, in particular in older persons. As AK may potentially progress into invasive cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, guidelines recommend early and consequent treatment. Numerous lesion- and field-directed interventions with different efficacy and safety profiles are currently licensed in Germany. The appropriate intervention should...
Authors: Oszukowska M, Kozłowska M, Kaszuba A Abstract Introduction: Psoriasis is considered as a risk factor for atherosclerosis and contributes to myocardial infarction, ischemic heart disease and brain stroke. Aim: To estimate the atherogenic potential of psoriasis by analysing antioxidative and prooxidative factors (paraoxonase-1, α-tocopherol, uric acid, homocysteine), compare levels of these parameters between groups of psoriatic patients and healthy individuals as well as to analyse the impact of psoriasis severity and duration on the factors under the study and to define correlation between the m...
