Roche ’s Tecentriq in combination with Avastin and chemotherapy for the initial treatment of people with a specific type of metastatic lung cancer shows positive data in those with liver metastases

Roche today announced positive additional results of a prespecified exploratory analysis from the Phase III IMpower150 study, which demonstrated that the combination of Tecentriq ® (atezolizumab), Avastin® (bevacizumab), carboplatin and paclitaxel (chemotherapy) gave patients with chemotherapy-naïve, metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with baseline liver metastases an overall survival (OS) advantage compared with the combination of Avastin and che motherapy (median OS=13.3 vs 9.4 months; hazard ratio [HR]=0.52; 95% CI: 0.33–0.82) in the intention-to-treat (ITT) population.
