Non-venomous snakebites in the Western Brazilian Amazon

CONCLUSIONS: The symptoms prod uced by the snakes Helicops angulatus and Philodryas viridissima, combined with their coloration can be confused with venomous snakes (Bothrops atrox and Bothrops bilineatus), thus resulting in incorrect bothropic snakebite diagnosis.
