Bone mineral density and associated fractures in COPD patients: The role of inflammation and pulmonary rehabilitation

We read the paper of Kameyama N et al. about factors associated with rapid bone mineral density (BMD) decline among COPD patients [1]. Osteoporosis is highly prevalent in COPD and associated with several adverse outcomes [2]; thus, investigating the characteristics of patients with rapid BMD decline and associated fractures, might offer further insight into modifying factors of these complications.
