Media Advisory: IntraHealth, Nursing Now, and Johnson & Johnson to Launch Nursing and Leadership Report at Women Deliver

May 24, 2019On June 6, IntraHealth International, Nursing Now, and Johnson& Johnson will launch a new report —Investing in the Power of Nurse Leadership: What Will it Take?—at a side event duringWomen Deliver 2019 in Vancouver.  OVERVIEW: The nursing workforce has massive potential to drive health and economic gains, especially for women and girls. Investing in that potential is a must to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals on health, gender equality, decent work, and poverty alleviation. Yet persistent gender-related barriers in women ’s leadership jeopardize full returns on those investments. IntraHealth International, Nursing Now, and Johnson& Johnson convened a partnership to research the barriers and pathways to success for female nurses.Researcherssurveyed more than 2,500 nurses in 117 countries on a cross-section of gender-related issues,including occupational sex segregation, discrimination, sexual harassment, unpaid care work, and mentorship. At a June 6 launch event during Women Deliver, Barbara Stilwell of Nursing Now and Constance Newman of IntraHealth will share the findings of the report.
