Louisville EMTs Injured in January Crash Still Recovering

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WLKY) - On EMS Appreciation Week and for the first time, we are hearing from two emergency medical technicians who were seriously injured earlier this year. JEMS: Kentucky Ambulance Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash Kris Haeberlin, 31, and Chris Barrett, 28, both serve with Louisville Metro Emergency Medical Services. The partners were hospitalized in January after their ambulance was hit on the side of I-264, near Bells Lane. A combative patient had forced the pair to pull over to the side of the road. Moments later, the ambulance was rear ended by a dump truck. "I remember seeing a few lights, seeing some people and everything went black," Kris Haeberlin told WLKY. MORE
