Learning is perceived as a process of personal and social construction where people are actively involved in making sense of information they interact with, rather than passively receiving it (Kuhthau 2004). This cumulative and developmental process involves the whole person in thinking, acting, reflecting, discovering ideas, making connections, and transforming prior knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values into new knowledge (Dewey 1933). AbstractPulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) or fistulas are rare direct pathological connections between pulmonary arterial and venous circulation. Most of PAVMs are congenital and closely associated with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, but acquired PAVMs have also been described in the literature. Diagnosis of PAVMs is a priority for clinicians, in order to prevent potentially fatal events such as cerebrovascular stroke, systemic septic embolization, hemoptysis and hemothorax. In this scenario, the radiologist plays a key role in both diagnostic and therapeutic workups of PAVMs: Chest X-ray, computed tomo...

This is particularly true in contact centres, where employers not only expect members to deal with customer queries within specific timescales but also face restrictions on the number ...

In this study, predictors of LOS were identified using a survival model that considered age as a continuous variable, separate comorbidities, and the discharge destination. Our findings are consistent with earlier reports and confirm the strong associations linking LOS to diabetes, day of surgery, and discharge destination in France. We also identified predictors of discharge to rehabilitation and of readmission within 30 days.Level of evidenceIV, retrospective observational cohort study.
