Urinary stress incontinence is a very common condition that can cause a significant impact on quality of life for many women.  The TVTO (Tension Free Vaginal Tape – Obturator) procedure is a what is known as a sub-urethral sling procedure. It involves placing a synthetic (polypropylene) mesh tape under the urethra. This is designed to give some extra support underneath the urethra and bladder.
