Diagnostic value of adrenal iodine-131 6-beta-iodomethyl-19-norcholesterol scintigraphy for primary aldosteronism: a retrospective study at a medical center in North Taiwan

Conclusion NP-59 adrenal scintigraphy is a useful imaging test to detect APA. Lateralization by this modality prior to surgical intervention may reduce the need for such invasive procedures as adrenal venous sampling.

CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrated that F18-FDG PET was able to identify 55% of patients with ischaemic heart disease with viability in more than 10% of the total myocardium when using a 17-segment model. PMID: 31194212 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

1423Objectives: Gastric wall tracer uptake (GWU) of 99mTc-Sestamibi (MIBI) is a less studied phenomenon in single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS), and known to cause imaging artifacts in the inferior LV myocardium, lowering the diagnostic accuracy. Significant GWU has been observed with prolonged intake of proton pump inhibitors (PPI) without any reasonable explanation. The present prospective study was conducted with primary objective to establish the association of GWU if any with PPI and H2 receptor antagonists (H2A) intake. The secondary objectives were to compare the...

Conclusion Taken together, evidence from animal and human studies demonstrates that the brain detects levels of circulating nutrients and hormones and consequently organizes an outward response that contributes to the regulation of whole-body glucose homeostasis. However, there are major knowledge gaps about the exact nature of this response and its relative importance compared to peripheral processes. As we have seen, animal studies have provided an anatomical map of CNS glucose regulation and have identified important neurons and neural circuits involved. Additionally, the CNS sensing of key nutrients and hormones has b...

Conclusion: Nonspecific respiratory symptoms should raise concern for PH and diffuse PEMH in patients with advanced-stage MF. Combined Tc-99m SC BM scintigraphy and SPECT/CT is a promising noninvasive imaging tool to diagnose this rare clinical entity. PMID: 29884685 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions: LMI1195, a novel F-18-labeled PET-tracer, is highly effective in detecting tumors of the adrenal medulla or the sympathetic trunk. High uptake in lesions and superb image quality promote its use as alternative to MIBG. Further potential applications (e.g. assessment of the sympathetic innervation of the heart) should be evaluated.

Conclusion: Combination of traditional 99mTcDTPA renal dynamic scintigraphy and renogram with SPECT/CT could provide not only anatomical and functional information of kidneys and ureters in the evaluation of obstructive uropathy and may also show the causes of the disease. Our study indicated that the added value of a simultaneous CT imaging renal scintigraphy and SPECT had a clear added value of confidence in daily clinical practice.

The objective of the present study is to investigate the predictive value of LVMD for long-term ACE after CABG in CAD patients by radionuclide myocardial imaging. Methods: From September 2013 to March 2016, 49 patients (44 males, 5 females, average age: (64±8) years) with CAD in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were prospectively recruited. All patients underwent 99mTc-MIBI gated single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) and F-18-FDG positron emission tomography (PET) myocardial metabolic imaging to assess myocardial viability preoperatively and gated SP...

1569Objectives: To evaluate the clinical value of ventilation/perfusion single photon emission computed tomography (V/Q SPECT) in patients with pulmonary embolism (PE) and anticoagulant therapy by using V/Q SPECT and indentify factors which may affect the effect of therapy. Material and method: A total of 195 patients who underwent V/Q SPECT in Anzhen Hospital from July 2014 till December 2016 were clinically diagnosed as PE. Sixty-three patients who performed more than twice V/Q SPECT examinations were recruited in our current study. According to extent of lung perfusion defect (PD) involved lung volume (%), the severity ...
