There are no effective methods such as vaccines to prevent or control these diseases. Alternative methods should be employed, such as using novel immunostimulant poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB). The present study aimed to evaluate effects of dietary PHB supplementation on the growth, antioxidant enzymes activity, immune-related genes expression and intestinal microbiota in soiny mullet. The fish was fed for 30 or 60 days with six diets at different PHB supplementation of 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4 and 8%, named as groups P0, P0.5, P1, P2, P4 and P8. In this study, we attempted to improve the immunological performance of a hybrid nanoparticle-based nicotine vaccine (NanoNicVac) by co-administering it with Alum. It was found that Alum severely restricted the release of NanoNicVac at the site of injection. Moreover, Alum damaged the hybrid structure of the vaccine. In this study, we generated a novel subunit vaccine that incorporates four key KSHV envelope glycoproteins required for viral entry in diverse cell types (gpK8.1, gB, and gH/gL) into a single multivalent KSHV-like particle (KSHV-LP). Purified KSHV-LPs were similar in size, shape, and morphology to KSHV virions.
