Confounding variables in future studies assessing relationship between paraspinal muscles and low back pain

This study brings to light the fact that there is very little information linking the relationship of the lumbar paraspinal muscles to low back pain (LBP). The results of the st udy revealed an inverse relationship between paraspinal muscle cross-sectional area and LBP disability, suggesting that treatment aimed at increasing the muscle size may be effective in reducing low back disability.
