Sunday Sermonette: Badly in need of an editor

In spite of multiple continuity errors, weird interpolations, and repetitiveness, the authors have been moving the plot along reasonably well. Then we get this. First, God talks to Moses again, exactly how or where we don ' t know, and basically repeats stuff he has already said and also makes a couple of false assertions.Then theLord said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country.”Well no, that ' s not what ' s going to happen. He won ' t " drive them out of his country. "2 God also said to Moses, “I am theLord.3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty,[a] but by my name theLord[b] I did not make myself fully known to them.4NIV as usual is engaged in cleanup here. They are translating  " YWHW, " Jehovah, as The Lord but they don ' t want to tell us that. Here is Genesis 2:14: " And Abraham called the name of that placeJehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. " I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they resided as foreigners.5 Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.6 “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am theLord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
