A new delineation method research of the clinical target volume for pancreatic cancer adjuvant radiotherapy.

CONCLUSIONS: A majority of postoperative local recurrences in patients with pancreatic head and body cancer are contained within a smaller region surrounding the celiac artery and superior mesenteric artery. The "new" volumes targeting high risk local failures may allow dose escalation and enhanced local control while minimizing radiation-related toxicity. CONCLUSION: In individuals with metastatic PDAC who have mutations involved in DNA repair, Olaparib may provide clinical benefit. BRCA mutations affecting RAD51 binding domains translated to improved median OS. QTA of individual tumors may allow for additional information that predicts outcomes to treatment with PARP inhibitors. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: Pursuing germline and somatic DNA sequencing in individuals with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma may yield abnormalities in DNA repair pathways. These individuals may receive benefit with poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibition. Radiomics and deep sequencing ...

AbstractThe incidence and mortality rates of pancreatic cancer, which has a poor prognosis, are rising rapidly. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) provides superior spatial resolution compared with other imaging modalities such as transabdominal ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and it is considered among the most reliable and efficient diagnostic modalities for pancreatic diseases. In this review, we show that EUS is useful for detection of pancreatic solid lesions and staging of pancreatic cancer. EUS also plays an important role in screening patients with high-risk factors for pan...

Abstract PURPOSE: TGR represents the percentage change in tumour volume per month (%/m). Previous results from the GREPONET study showed that TGR measured after 3 months (TGR3m) of starting systemic treatment (ST) or watch and wait (WW) was an early biomarker predicting progression-free survival (PFS) in NETs. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN: Pts from7 centres with advanced grade(G) 1/2 NETs from the pancreas(P)/small bowel(SB) initiating ST/WW were eligible. Computed tomography (CT) / magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) performed at pre-baseline, baseline and 3(+/-1) months of study entry were retrospectively reviewed. Aim...

ConclusionSurgical treatment should be considered for pancreatic metastasis from lung cancer if the disease is localized and the patient’s condition is good. Additionally, combined therapy, including surgical resection, may be effective for repeated recurrence.
