In this study, we analyzed the concentration of OPN, levels of cytokines associated with T-helper subtypes: interferon gamma (IFNy) for Th1, interleukin (IL)-10 for Th2, IL-8 for Th17, and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in 22 patients with schizophrenia assessed for the intensity of their symptoms by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and Clinical Global Impression scale (CGI) scores. Serum OPN, IFNy, IL-10, and IL-8 concentrations were measured by ELISA kits and NLR was calculated from blood count. We found significant correlation between the level of OPN and PANSS-total and PANSS-general scores. IFNy ...

CONCLUSIONS: Our results plead for further research on a larger and less homogeneous sample. Confirming our findings could help build useful recommendations leading to better integrated families who currently seem to feel relatively isolated and exclused in the healthcare process, despite the strategic role they could play and despite the many recommendations of public health policies in that matter. Efforts should continue to be made to reach the goal of a better inclusion of families and close relatives of people experiencing schizophrenia or schizophrenia spectrum disorders, in particular in the field of information and...

ConclusionsAs large window sizes are unable to detect short states, using shorter window size is desirable if the estimator is robust enough. We provide evidence that WAST requires fewer samples (compared to SWPC) to reach a robust estimation. As a result, we were able to identify rapidly varying dFNC patterns undetected by SWPC while still being able to robustly estimate slower dFNC patterns.
