Sharp rise in number of parents forking out thousands to freeze baby's umbilical cord

Some 27,028 Britons had stem-cell-rich umbilical-cord blood stored in special ‘bio-banks' in 2018 compared with 16,965 in 2014. The hope is that they'll one day cure a host of medical conditions.
