SHINE and IOCB Prague enter Lu-177 process license agreement
(Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IOCB Prague)) SHINE Medical Technologies, Inc. and IOCB Prague have entered into an intellectual property license agreement providing SHINE with a global, exclusive license to a novel method for separating rare earth elements. SHINE will use the innovation to produce lutetium-177 (Lu-177) for the treatment of cancer. The separation technique was developed by the team of Dr. Miloslav Pol á ek, from IOCB Prague.

AbstractA novel series of coumarin-pyridine/fused pyridine hybrids were designed and synthesized. Their anticancer activity was evaluated against human cancer cell lines MCF-7, HCT-116, HepG-2, and A549. Compounds9,10, and11 showed the most potent growth inhibitory activities with IC50 values ranging from 1.1 to 2.4 μM, against MCF-7 cell line. Conclusion: Preoperative systematic staging by EBUS-TBNA of early lung cancer can reduce postoperative upstaging. Sensitivity for detection of radiologically occult mediastinal metastases seems lower than selective sampling of pathologic lymph nodes. Verification of negative results by mediastinoscopy in selected cases remains of value.
