Cytokine-mediated cellular immune activation in electroconvulsive therapy: A CSF study in patients with treatment-resistant depression.

CONCLUSIONS: Although the sample size was small, we found different effects of the ECT treatment per se and of the antidepressant action induced by ECT in CSF and blood.
