Effect of complementary alternative medicine on menopausal symptoms, among rural women of South India
Objectives: Women experience varying physical and psychological symptoms as they transit through post-reproducitve phase of life or Menopause. The commonly recommended Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)2 is losing its popularity among midlife women due to associated risks and side-effects. Hence the objective of this study was to develop and investigate the effect of a Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM)3, which was holistic in nature.
