Prevalence of glutathione s-transferase genes some polymorphisms in menopausal women of two ethnic groups with insomnia

Introduction: According to the current data, most menopausal women have reduced quality of life and one of the main criteria of it is sleep disturbances. It is highly possible, that main consequences of sleep loss may be oxidative stress. Glutathione system is the one of the important components of the antioxidant defense system, which includes glutathione and enzymes. It has been shown that the activity of these enzymes is determined by the polymorphic variants of the corresponding genes. The aim of this research is to carry out a comparative analysis of the frequency distribution of Glutathione S-transferase T1 (GSTT1) and M1 (GSTM1) genotypes in Caucasian and Asian menopausal women with insomnia.
